City Council approves proposed changes to Non-Dot Drug and Alcohol Work-Place Policy

Redwood Falls City Council met Tuesday, Sept. 20 and approved to pay the rink tec invoice in the amount of $89,784.08 by using the funds from the capital projects fund. This past winter season, maintaining freon levels on the cooling system in the RACC ice arena has been difficult. A rink tec replaced the chiller seals, numerous valves, and refilled the freon. On June 1, 2021, the city entered into a tax abatement agreement with Redwood Property Holdings to provide financial assistance with the redevelopment of the old hospital into a multi-family housing facility. The abatement agreement included a requirement that construction was to begin by Sept. 1, 2021 and substantially completed by June 1. The city partnered with the developer to submit a Minnesota Housing Workforce Housing Development Grant application in the Fall of 2021. One of the requirements of the grant application was that construction could not begin on the project until a grant award decision was made.

Church should challenge us

Senior Pastor Middle Creek, Danube Zion and Olivia Faith Parish of the United Methodist Church “It just so convenient.” “I love it I can do church from my couch, and I don’t even need to change out of my jammies.” “It takes so much less time and hassle with out having to find a parking space or talking with everyone.” “Why didn’t we start doing online church a long time ago?” If you’re like me you’ve been hearing things like this more and more since COVID and in fact since the shutdown online attendance at churches has increased while in person attendance is at a all time low. Some would argue that this is a good thing or at least inevitable and I will agree that it is wonderful that church is more accessible than ever for the infirmed or those with particular health concerns. However this trend is spreading well beyond those with these concerns and is showing a much more troubling sign of our church culture today.
