The Victor Hirsch Legion Auxiliary #263 in Wabasso is proud to announce the results of their annual Poppy Poster Contest held with 4th, 5th and 6th grade students at St. Anne’s and Wabasso Public schools. All of the submitted posters are on display at Salfer’s Food Market and at Arvid Communications in downtown Wabasso. A big thank you goes out to the teachers and students who helped support this contest.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wabasso Senior Dining is only offering home delivery of meals, until further notice. Home delivery is available to those residing in Wabasso, Wanda, Lucan, Seaforth, Vesta, Delhi, Lamberton, Redwood Falls, Clements, Morton, Fairfax, Franklin, Gibbon, and Winthrop. To order a meal, or for more information, call Diane at 507-829-2385. You are asked to call one day prior by noon to order a meal. The cost is $4 a meal for those ages 60 and over; $2 on Thursdays for Wabasso residents. In response to social distancing measures, there are no senior dining activities in Wabasso at this time.
The Redwood County Board of Commissioners met May 3 and approved the Minnesota Statewide Security Monitoring Initiative Crowd Strike EDR Program Service Agreement and Authorization. The board of commissioners approved a contract in Nov. 2, 2021 to implement Crowd Strike to the End Point Protection application to get rid of Sophos and MalwareBytes. For 2022, the cost per device is $12, cutting down costs by almost 50% each year in End Point protection. Year 2023 will be approximately $14 per device and thereafter will be around $28 per device.
Tatanka Arts is a chartered organization sponsoring art events and artists from Redwood and Renville Counties. The Redwood Falls Public Library is hosting a juried show of local artists in the library’s meeting room during the months of May and June for all to enjoy.
The Redwood Valley boys and girls track teams earned third and sixth place finishes respectively at the Section True Team Meet held Monday at the Inglis Track & Field Complex in Redwood Falls. Luverne would capture both the boys and girls team titles.

Celebrate Redwood Falls (CRWF) hosted their ninth annual NightFalls three-night event May 5-7. In addition to the light displays along the road, the event included over 27 lighted areas decorated by organizations and businesses, totaling over three miles of lit trails throughout Ramsey Park.
The Wabasso baseball team split a Tomahawk Conference doubleheader with rival SESM Thursday, May 5 in Wabasso. The Rabbits took game one 5-2 and would fall 9-8 in eight innings in game two.
The Redwood Valley girls golf team continued their dominance of Big South competition with an easy win Monday, May 9 at the Windom Country Club. The Cardinals fired a 352 team total to outdistance second place Marshall (401) by 49 strokes.
