Treatment of special needs children

To the Editor: I am saddened to write this letter to explain and express my concern of how our Public Education System treats and cares for the teaching of our state’s most vulnerable children. Granted it’s not every district, but I can tell you with great certainty and knowledge of how districts are doing it, how we as taxpayers should not except it and how this is a call to action for our elected officials, community leaders and school boards, who actually have control over how their public schools are being run.

Busy End to the School Year

As Wabasso Public Schools winds down to the end of the school year, the busyness in the District picks up. Every year on a school's calendar, the months of April and May seem to be the most filled time of the year. Not only are our students entertained with extracurricular activities like athletics and organizations, but they are also busy with many other school functions.

Congratulations to Wabasso FFA

The Wabasso FFA had three CDE teams and one individual compete at the State FFA Convention, held at the University of Minnesota campuses and State Fairgrounds, April 24 through 26. More than 4,700 FFA members, advisors and guests from throughout the state gathered for the convention. In addition to the competitions, FFA members attended convention sessions, where they heard key note speakers, including the outgoing State Officers.
