The funeral service for Amy Werner, 86, of Belview will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and Friday, one hour prior to the service, 10-11 a.m. all at Grace Lutheran Church. Interment will follow the service at the Grace Lutheran Cemetery. Man versus Golf

You know how sometimes you go to visit your parents but you don’t want to stay with them because, you know, they’re your parents? So you decide to stay nearby, but not that nearby because, well, they’re your parents? But it’s also spring break for the kiddos so you dish out a little more scratch than usual and stay not just at a hotel but a resort with a full-on water park, with lots of pools and water slides galore? And you know how the first few days are good, clean family fun, swimming during the days, seeing the folks in the evening, but then you learn that the resort offers something else and that something else is… golf? And you know how halfway through your stay, the PGA walks in like they own the joint? I hate it when that happens.

Wabasso Blood Drive April 13

The American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held in the main room of the Wabasso Community Center on Wednesday, April 13, from 1 to 7 p.m. Sixteenyear-olds can donate blood if the consent form has been signed by a parent or legal guardian. Cash donations toward food and supplies can be given to Salfer's Foods or Ruprecht's Meat Market.

Guns and Diamonds Bingo

The Wabasso Area Baseball Association is hosting a Guns and Diamonds Bingo event on Saturday, April 9 at the Wabasso Community Center. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with food available from Roadhouse Bar and Grill. Bingo will begin at 7 p.m. with chances to win guns, diamonds or cash.

Wabasso Senior Dining Menu through April 15

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wabasso Senior Dining is only offering home delivery of meals, until further notice. Home delivery is available to those residing in Wabasso, Wanda, Lucan, Seaforth, Vesta, Delhi, Lamberton, Redwood Falls, Clements, Morton, Fairfax, Franklin, Gibbon, and Winthrop. To order a meal, or for more information, call Diane at 507-829-2385. You are asked to call one day prior by noon to order a meal. The cost is $4 a meal for those ages 60 and over; $2 on Thursdays for Wabasso residents. In response to social distancing measures, there are no senior dining activities in Wabasso at this time.
