Grants awarded to Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council Inc.

The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council Inc. (PIC) has been awarded $41,097 by the Otto Bremer Trust and $25,000 from the Southwest Initiative Foundation to provide a sequential, purposeful continuum of Career Exposure, Career Exploration and Career Experience activities for students in southwest Minnesota. The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council (PIC) is a private, nonprofit organization that offers customized training and employment services for individuals and businesses in a 14-county area of Southwest Minnesota.

“Saint” Patrick’s Day

Sometimes people ask me how I stay ahead of the news. Well, I have many trusted sources but I’ve been reading one publication in particular for longer than all the others. The periodical both in forms and entertains. Its prose is simple and clear, but not without style. Their news stories cut to the chase. There is a focus on the natural world. And their puzzles keep me razor sharp. That’s why I still read Highlights magazine.

Wabasso Senior Dining Menu through March 25

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wabasso Senior Dining is only offering home delivery of meals, until further notice. Home delivery is available to those residing in Wabasso, Wanda, Lucan, Seaforth, Vesta, Delhi, Lamberton, Redwood Falls, Clements, Morton, Fairfax, Franklin, Gibbon, and Winthrop. To order a meal, or for more information, call Diane at 507-829-2385. You are asked to call one day prior by noon to order a meal. The cost is $4 a meal for those ages 60 and over; $2 on Thursdays for Wabasso residents. In response to social distancing measures, there are no senior dining activities in Wabasso at this time.
