A strong second half finish helped lead the Redwood Valley girls basketball team to a 57-50 win over visiting Windom Area Friday night in a SWC showdown.
It was the first SWC win of the season for the Cardinals (3-15, 1-9) who outscored the Eagles 35-26 in the second half to claim the win.
Jessica Fischer had a huge game knocking down four three-pointers on the way to a game-high 24 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Liz Smith finished with 16 points and five rebounds and Janessa Read added four points and six rebounds.
Saturday night the Cardinals fell 56-47 to Luverne in a make-up game.
Sam Felt led the way with 13 points and four rebounds and Smith added 10 points and five steals.
Fischer chipped in with nine points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Kelsey Gaffney just missed out on a double-double finishing with nine points and 13 rebounds and Read had a huge night on the glass hauling in a season-high 17 boards to go along with three points
