At his request, there will be no funeral service.

Former resident of Crookston, Curtis Harold Larum, succumbed to cancer on February 1, 2017 in the Orlando, Florida, area.  Born and raised in Crookston, he was the only son of life-long residents, Harold A. Larum and Myrtle (Aarnes) Larum.  He is survived by a sister, Nancy (Larum) Tumey of Baton Rouge LA., his three sons, Eric, Chris and Kyle and their children.  His wife, Janie (Orr) Larum preceded him in death in 2008.

Curt graduated from Crookston Central High School in 1960 and attended college in Fullerton, CA. and the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.  He was in the U.S. Army for two years and married Janie Lou Orr in 1967 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he was employed by Shakey's Pizza.  Later, he owned a Shakey's Pizza Parlor in Tulsa, OK.  Curt was an accomplished craftsman and builder and found employment in that field after moving with his family to Florida in 1988.  He maintained contact with many of his high school classmates, and was happy to have been able to attend his 50th class reunion in Crookston in 2010, traveling with classmate and childhood friend, Bob Barsaloux.  At his request, there will be no funeral service.  He will be missed sorely by his family, his dog companions and his garden where he spent many happy and peaceful days.
