Bremer Bank is “Tak-ing Action Against Hunger” through the end of the month, as it raises funds for Feed-ing America, formerly known as America’s Second Harvest.
This marks the fourth consecutive year of the campaign – a partnership between the nonprofit and Bremer banks.
The timing of the Bremer campaign recognizes the growing need for food during the summer months, when more families utilize food shelves as children are home from school and do not have access to subsidized meal programs.
During the month of June, potential donors are invited to stop by a local Bremer Bank or make a donation online at Bremer.com.
With a requested minimum donation of $5, donors receive a reusable grocery tote available at all Bremer Bank branches while supplies last.
For online donations, a copy of the re-ceipt is required to receive a grocery tote at the bank.
“Bremer’s vision is to build healthy communities through partnerships,” said Matt John-son, president of Brem-er Bank in Redwood Falls. “This campaign reflects our vision and we invite everybody in the community to help us take action to end hunger.
“All proceeds will stay directly in the community and go to families in need. Thanks for your valued partnership and effort.”
For every $1 donated, Feeding America can provide $9 worth of food and grocery products to local food shelves and families in need. With a $5 donation, the organization can supply 20 individual lunches.
The nonprofit is the Upper Midwest’s largest hunger-relief organization serving a 59-county area across Minnesota, North Da-kota and Wisconsin.
