Lifelong Redwood area resident and Redwood Falls businessman, Gary Dahms, has announced his bid for the Minne-sota Senate District 21 seat.

Dennis Frederickson, the current senator for S21,  announced recently he is not going to seek re-election this fall.

“Frederickson will be missed,” said Dahms. “He has worked tirelessly for the district and has been a strong, consistent, and effective voice for the values we believe in.”

Dahms has owned and operated Dahms Insurance Agency for 24 years.  He also serves as a Redwood County Commis-sioner representing the Fifth District.  He is a graduate of the U of M and a participant in the Blandin Community Leadership Program.

Dahms and wife Barb have been married for 36 years and have two children – Michelle (Byron) Pike and Michael.

Barb has been a licensed insurance agent for 23 years and works with Gary at the agency.

When asked why he is running Dahms said, “I want to represent the people of this district, because I believe that rural Minnesota needs a strong voice in our legislature, and I know that decisions made in St. Paul will have a major impact on our future.
