The message is the same, but the proof keeps getting more evident each year.
The RVHS Class of 2009 learned this past Wednesday hard work certainly pays off, as it has the potential, if it fulfills all of its expectations, to earn $816,275 in scholarship awards.
Among the recipients was Kelsey Guetter who said she filled out nine scholarship applications.
At the end of the evening, Guetter had been presented six of them.
When asked, the future Ridge-water College student said the scholarships she received were going to pay for most of her first year of school.
It was certainly worth the work, she said.
What follows is a list of the scholarship awards presented and announced to the RVHS senior class this past Wednesday as part of Evening of the Stars.
• A $300 Sons of the Ameri-can Legion scholarship was presented to Nate Thooft.
• Brandon Arentson and Juli-anna Passe were presented the Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete award.
• Julianna Passe was presented a $200 Audacia Study Club scholarship.
• The Co-op Country Farmers Elevator scholarship in the amount of $600 was presented to Brandon Arentson.
• Kelsey Guetter and Morgan Milbradt were each presented $500 scholarships from Bremer Bank.
• Lisa Busack was awarded a $500 scholarship from Echo Farmer’s Co-op Oil Company.
• A $300 Morton Lions Scho-larship was awarded to Kirsten Bielen and Brittany Greenslit.
• Nelson-Martin Funeral Ser-vice presented a $250 award to Brandon Arentson, a $125 award to Amandy O’Leary and a $100 award to Autumn Sterry.
• Kirsten Bielen was presented a $500 scholarship from NU-Telecom.
• The Outstanding Young Adult award from the Women of Today in the amount of $300 was presented to Sarita Tabor.
• Lindsey Stage and Trevor Goblirsch each received a $275 award from the Redwood Falls Fire Department.
• A $500 Redwood Falls Rotary Club scholarship was presented to Tyler Stage.
• A $1,000 scholarship was presented to Kelsey Guetter and Lindsay Stage from the Burger King/MacLamore Foundation.
• Morgan Milbradt received a $300 scholarship from the Belview Booster Club.
• Anthony Dunne, Kelsey Guetter, Hannah Bitker, Nate Thooft and Sam Knudsen each received a $300 scholarship from the Redwood Electric Coopera-tive.
• Morgan Milbradt and Nate Thooft each received a $200 scholarship from the Redwood Falls Masonic Lodge.
• Kelsey Guetter has been awarded a $3,000 Sam Walton Community scholarship.
• The CAPP award was presented to Mitchell Petersen.
• A total of $12,000 was presented in Business Professionals of America scholarships to Liz Anderson ($250), Brandon Arentson ($500), Kirsten Bielen ($1,500), Hannah Bitker ($100), Ann Buboltz ($300), Veronica Busiahn ($750), Becky Corbett ($300), Anthony Dunne ($250), Shane Gewerth ($100), Laura Houghton ($100), Kate Kanne ($300), Meg Kanne ($200), Brenna Larson ($250), Abby Malecek ($750), Anika Martin ($1,000), Liz McClurg ($1,300), Brittany Messer ($100), Morgan Milbradt ($100), Julianna Passe ($225), Mitchell Petersen ($1,000), John Schroeder ($225), Samantha Serbus ($750), Casey Smith ($400), Lindsey Stage ($400), Sarita Tabor ($225) and Nicole Weelborg ($100).
• Three $200 scholarships were presented to Hannah Bitker, Kelsey Guetter and Anthony Dunner by the Redwood Valley National Honor Society.
• Brandon Arentson, Anthony Dunne, Brenna Larson, Abby Malecek and Casey Smith each received a $300 scholarship from the Redwood Valley student council.
• A $500 Education Minnesota – Redwood Falls scholarship was presented to Hannah Bitker.
• Kirsten Bielen has received a $13,500, four-year renewable scholarship, a $500 scholarship and a $2,200 scholarship from Buena Vista University.
• Sarita Tabor has received a $12,000 renewable scholarship form the College of St. Benedict.
• Emma AllRunner has received a $5,000 renewable scholarship from Gustavus Adolphus College.
• Allex Anderson has received a $13,000 renewable scholarship and a $1,000 renewable scholarship from Dakota Wesleyan University.
• Brian Anderson has received a $39,000 renewable scholarship from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
• Elizabeth Anderson has received an $11,000 renewable scholarship from Augustana College.
• Brandon Arentson has received a $2,000 renewable scholarship and a $2,500 leadership scholarship from the U of M – Twin Cities.
• Hannah Bitker has received an $8,500 renewable scholarship from Bethel University.
• Ann Buboltz has received a $500 renewable scholarship from NDSU.
• Veronica Busiahn has received an $11,900 renewable scholarship from Augustana College.
• Michael Felt has received a $12,700 renewable scholarship from NDSU.
• Brittany Greenslit has re-ceived a $200 scholarship form the Youth of America Bowling Alliance.
• Kelsey Guetter has received a $250 scholarship from Ridgewater College.
• Sam Knudsen has received a $1,000 scholarship from the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association.
• Brenna Larson has received a $1,500 renewable scholarship from Winona State University.
• Kurt Larson has received a $28,000 renewable scholarship from St. Olaf College.
• Abby Malecek has received a $1,500 renewable scholarship from the Mankato campus of Minnesota State University.
• Addie O’Neil has received a $2,000 renewable scholarship from the Crookston campus of the U of M.
• Julianna Passe has received a $13,000 renewable scholarship from Macalester College and a $200 Southwest Keyboard Scholarship.
• Nate Thooft has received a $5,000 renewable scholarship from NDSU.
• Nicole Weelborg has received a $6,000 renewable scholarship from Bethany Lutheran College.
