Redwood Falls, Minn. —
The Redwood Falls City Council agreed on Tuesday to allow the Redwood Area Hospital to purchase a new software system for record keeping.
According to Surgery Department Manager Julie Salmon, the ProVation software system has been requested by visiting surgeons who do endoscopy procedures.
The ProVation system costs $40,423, with an additional $10,000 cost to interface the ProVation software into the new Meditech electronic medical record computer system the hospital already uses.
In other city news, the council:
• Witnessed the swearing in of two new members of the Redwood Falls Police Department: Assistant Police Chief Jason Cotner, and Officer Mike Monson.
• Approved a temporary on-sale liquor license for the grape stomp event to be held on Sept. 24 at the corner of Second and Jefferson Streets.
• Approved four easements, which would allow the Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (SMMPA) to build a new 115 KV transmission lines across four parcels of city-owned property.
• Accepted the resignation of Assistant/Children’s Librarian Lori Crocker from the Redwood Falls Public Library, and authorized the library to begin the hiring process for a replacement.
