Redwood Falls, Minn. —
When Anita Tatge opened Mama’s Massage in Morton three years ago, she quickly learned the building she was renting wasn’t ideal for some of her clients.
Then, last August, Tatge heard a building on the other edge of town—which formerly held a coffee shop and cheese store—was available.
“I heard the building was open and came to look at it, and the next thing I knew I was signing the papers,” Tatge said.
Originally the plan—to the extent she had one—was to have Mama’s Massage occupy the entire building.
But the desire to keep the doors open full-time changed her mind. The new massage salon was dubbed Granite Valley Business Center.
“I want someone to always be in the building, except on Sundays,” Tatge said.
Tatge is currently remodeling the inside into offices for six separate businesses, of which she’ll use one.
The original built-in freezer and refrigerator from when the building housed a cheese shop will eventually be turned into handicapped accessible restrooms.
The structure has two separate entrances, for greater privacy for clients and businesses.
Tatge already has two other businesses committed to moving into the building soon. A second massage therapist will take the office next to Tatge’s, and a Prior Lake-based engineer who plans on setting up a regional office in Morton.
Three other rooms are still available, and Tatge said she’s already been showing them to regional businesspeople interested in setting up shop in Morton.
Tatge hopes to have Mama’s Massage fully moved in by this week.
