Forty students from area WELS and ELS congregations came together for a teen retreat which was held at Martin Luther College in New Ulm Sept. 23.

The purposes for the event included: bringing youth from the area together for an event focused on missions, learning about Martin Luther College, packing “healthy living kits” for area food shelves and crisis ministries, enjoying some entertainment and eating some great food.

Students and their leaders brought items to fill the “healthy living kits,” which were then packed.

Now they are being distributed to area food shelves with the hope that some child will have the supplies they need to help with their daily needs.

Besides packing the bags, students had fun doing some great mixer games, learning about the ministry of Martin Luther College and being entertained by Jonah and the Conquerors.

The days’ events were concluded with a supper in the MLC cafeteria which is always a hit with teens.

This event was sponsored by the Minnesota Valley Regional Mission team of Kingdom Workers and Martin Luther College with additional funding from Thrivent, Cashwise and HyVee.

Among those who attended were some youth from St.John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, including Abby Nelson, Emma Nelson, Kaitlin Kramer and Noah Sulzle.
