Gil-Mor Manor and Gil-Mor Haven of Morgan are hosting an annual event this coming weekend with a new focus. While it has hosted an annual fundraiser in the past, this year it is hoping to bring in more people with its first Memories and Motors car and tractor show.
The event is being held Sunday (Sept. 16) beginning with a beef commercial dinner, which is being served from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The cost of the meal is $10 for adults and $6 for those 12 and under. Takeouts are available.
Registration for the car and tractor show starts at 9:30 a.m., with the show opening at 11 a.m.
According to Terrie Rothmeier, Gil-Mor administrator, everyone is invited to come and exhibit their cars, trucks and tractors.
People’s Choice awards will be presented in antique, classic, muscle and tractor categories.
The event also includes a silent auction and a pie auction, and Rothmeier said donations are being accepted for the auctions. Anyone who would like to donate is asked to bring their donation to the Gil-Mor office by this Friday.
The band Hammertyme will entertain the crowd from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. as well.
Proceeds from the Gil-Mor Memories and Motors fundraiser are going to be used to make improvements to its facility and to enhance the quality of life for residents and tenants. More specifically, projects that would be done include window replacement, replacement of two handicap doors, updating the dining room /gathering space and tuck pointing the chimney.
