The fourth annual GRASP Motorcycle Ride for Life had to be postponed in August due to rain. The fundraising event is now being held this Saturday (Sept. 15) to raise awareness and funds to combat suicide in southwest Minnesota.
The ride will start at Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel in Morton with registration at 9 a.m. and kickstands up at 10 a.m.
“The GRASP Ride for Life is a great way to build community supporting mental health and support suicide prevention efforts directly in our community,” said Katherine Brozek, GRASP board chair. “Holding the ride at the end of National Suicide Prevention Week is a nice way to end the week.”
The ride will stop in Comfrey for a short break and then will finish at Bonnie and Clydes in Westbrook with lunch (on your own).
Riders can break off after lunch or follow the ride back to Redwood Falls.
The cost to participate is $25 per bike, but no rider will be turned away.
Proceeds from the event will go to GRASP – Greater Redwood Area Suicide Prevention – to fund suicide prevention and education in the Redwood area and southwestern Minnesota communities.
The public is encouraged to support the riders along the route and to be cautious if traveling during the ride.
