The Redwood Area Concert Association is pleased to announce its concert series schedule for the 2018-19 season and the start of membership sales as of Aug. 22.
The concert season will begin Oct. 1, 2018, with the high energy Jersey Tenors. The Jersey Tenors, who were recently touted as the most versatile tribute act in the nation, are a quartet of classically trained Broadway performers who have created an explosive blend of rock and opera with “Jersey Proud” roots. From Frank Sinatra to Figaro to Frankie Valli, audience members will love it all.
The series continues Oct. 15, 2018, with William Florian’s program, Those Were The Days. Florian is a former lead singer of The New Christy Minstrels. He’ll take the audience on an upbeat musical journey of the songs, spirit and humor of the 60s.
Elisabeth Von Trapp, granddaughter of Maria and Baron Von Trapp of the “Sound of Music” will take the stage March 1, 2019. It has been said that “magic happens when she begins to sing.” Von Trapp’s repertoire is wide and will include Rodgers & Hammerstein favorites.
The fourth and final concert of the 2018 – 19 season will be a performance by the famous Boston Brass. This brass quintet has been providing one-of-a-kind musical experiences around the world for over 30 years. With great music and boisterous fun, they will delight audiences of all ages. The performance is scheduled for April 8, 2019.
All concerts will be held at 7 p.m. in the Estebo Performing Arts Center at Redwood Valley schools in Redwood Falls.
Along with the four Redwood Falls concerts, RACA membership includes the option to attend an additional 12 concerts through reciprocity agreements with the concert associations of Marshall, Windom and Montevideo.
Some of the featured performances available at these three venues include : Charlie Albright, brilliant young pianist; Tapestry, tribute to Carole King; Holy Rocka Rollaz - rockin’ the hits of the late 50s; Leon William,baritone, sings NOEL; the California Guitar Trio and Bandstand Boogie, a salute to American Bandstand.
Concerts are available by series membership. Membership prices are $45 for an adult ticket, $15 for a student ticket and $100 for a family ticket.
