Al Kokesch, Friends of Gilfillan president, and Chad Kamolz, Redwood County Historical Society president, recently accepted the keys to a cargo van from Scott Larson, owner of Larson’s Home Furnishings.

The van will be utilized by the Friends of Gilfillan, which is an all-volunteer group, for the groundskeeping activities on the 21-acre Gilfillan Estate site located between Morgan and Redwood Falls. The historic farm site hosts a variety of annual events from Farmfest to Relay For Life, as well as reunions and weddings throughout the year.

The site also features a campground.

"The Friends will put the van to good use, transporting mowers and tools around the property," said Larson.

Larson’s Home Furnishings continues its commitment to the community with its monthly donations of $110 to area organizations as part of the business’ celebration of its 110th anniversary.

Donations have been made to Big Buddies of Redwood County, Special Olympics, the Redwood Area Food Shelf, the Redwood Area Community Youth Foundation, Redwood County Veterans Services and the Lower Sioux Early Childhood Head Start program.
