Redwood Valley boys roll to Section 3A title and advance on to State

For the second time in school history the Redwood Valley boys track team is headed to the State True Team Track & Field Meet.

The Cardinal boys put together an outstanding performance en route to winning the Section 3A True Team Meet Monday afternoon at the Murray Co. Central Track Complex.

The Cardinals - who also claimed a True Team title in 2009 - finished with 679.5 team points to hold off Southwest MN Christian (641) and Canby/Minneota (634.5) in the 13-team event.

“We’ve had some deep, amazing teams just miss out on a True Team title so for us to come in and accomplish this goal is a great feeling,” Coach Andy Regnier said, “This is the beauty of the true team concept, no individual glory, only TEAM, our kids were out there supporting each other, motivating each other and giving it all they had. Of all the success we’ve had over the years this has to rank right up at the top.”

Redwood Valley will now advance on to the State True Team Meet which will be held May 18 and 19 in Stillwater.
