With the spring weather being less than accommodating, the Redwood Valley boys and girls track teams dominated an indoor quadrangular held Thursday afternoon at the Redwood Area Community Center.

It was the second indoor meet held at the facility this spring with the weather hindering the start of the outdoor season. The Cardinal boys racked up 121.5 team points to easily outdistance second-place Mountain Lake Area (69), and the girls totaled 111 team points to top second-place BOLD (80) by more than 30 points.

Senior Logan Josephson continued his early domination by winning the 60 meter dash (7.53), the long jump (19’ 3 3/4”) and teaming up with Kyle Huhnerkoch, Deon Estebo and Gavin Dow to win the 4x400 relay (3:55.12).

The Cardinal 4x800 relay team of Mason Clark, Maverick Goblirsch, Dow and Estebo also claimed first place (9:30.28). Clark (2:19.88) and Goblirsch (2:22.96) also went one-two in the 800 meter run, with Luke Hammerschmidt finishing fifth (2:42.32).

Sophomore Kaleb Haase won the shot put (40’ 2”), and Bennet Vollbehr was second in the 200 meter dash (26.90). Huhnerkoch (5’8”) and Jordan Mertens (5’8”) finished second and third in the high jump, and Luke Grannes was second in the pole vault (9’).

Huhnerkoch added a second place finish in the 60 meter dash (7.77), and Logan Prouty (10.83) and Jed Hansen (11.22) were second and third respectively in the 60 meter hurdles. Leo Steffl (5:43.98) and Sam Fox (5:49.85) were second and third in the 1,600, and Camden Cilek (6:00.96) finished fifth.

Prouty was fourth in the pole vault (7’6”), Aeneas Pacheco was fifth in the 400 (1:05.51) and Brayden Reynolds was fifth in the pole vault (7’6”). The Cardinal 4x100 team of Pacheco, Reynolds, Prouty and Vollbehr placed fourth (51.73).

The Cardinal girls got a first place finish from the 4x800 team of Aubree Hicks, Hannah Clennon, Kaitlyn Loftus and Catherine Buffie (11:48.55). Alexa Steffl was first in the 60 meter hurdles (10.67), Caitlyn Johnson won the 200 (30.31) and Ella Fuhr claimed first place in the 400 (1:09.36).

The 4x100 team of Johnson, Alaina Goblirsch, Brianna Panitzke and Sidney Beran finished second (57.87). Buffie finished second in the 800 (2:58.27), Sophia Uhlenkamp was third (3:01.05) and Loftus fifth (3:03.49). Hicks (1:12.57) and Jahlyn Bill (1:15.29) finished second and third respectively in the 400.

Hannah Schjenken finished second in the high jump (4’8”), and Steffl was fourth (4’6”). Beran was second in the long jump (14’ 6 3/4”), Schjenken third (14’2”) and Hillestad fourth (13’7 1/2”). Jasmine Barnes was third in the 1,600 (6:46.37), Steffl finished third in the 200 (31.26), Isabel Hillestad was fourth (31.45) and Fuhr finished fifth in the 60 meter dash (9.09).

Hannah Elmer added a third place finish in the pole vault (7’), and Panitzke was fifth (6’).
