Irlbeck, Woodford named to All-Big South West Conference basketball team
The Redwood Valley boys basketball team had a pair of players recently named to the Big South West All-Conference team for the 2017-18 campaign.
Senior Mitch Irlbeck and junior Cole Woodford were both first-team honorees after leading Redwood Valley in most statistical categories.
Irlbeck – who surpassed 1,000 career points early in the season – averaged 21.3 ppg, 6.1 rpg and 1.7 apg and led the team with 574 total points, 164 rebounds and 46 assists.
Woodford averaged 16.7 ppg, 5.8 rpg and 1.7 apg and was second on the team with 434 points (including a team-high 58 three-pointers), third in total rebounds with 151, second in assists with 44 and led the team with 48 steals.
Other Cardinals final numbers included: Deo Charles (6.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg and 1.0 apg), Payton Nelson (6.0 ppg, 1.5 rpg, second on the team with 45 made three-pointers and a 40.2 percent average from beyond the arc), Kyle Huhnerkoch (5.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg), Logan Josephson (5.0 ppg, 6.2 rpg, second on team with 162 rebounds), Bronson Smith (3.4 ppg, 1.5 rpg) and Colin Wells (2.1 ppp, 1.0 rpg).
