Joseph Evans of the River Valley Arts Center in Morton continues to push forward with his vision for a place to feature artists and their artwork.

With that in mind, he has scheduled an art reception for April 7 at the Renville County Museum in Morton. The event is being held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and is being sponsored by Tatanka Bluffs and the City of Morton, and the public is encouraged to come out that day to see the kind of talent that exists right in this area.

What he needs now is for artists to sign up to bring their artwork for the April 7 show.

“All forms of art are welcome,” said Evans. “Whether it is two-dimensional or three-dimensional, we have places to display it. Anything works.”

The deadline to register a piece for the exhibit is March 26.

“The fee to enter has been waived thanks to the sponsorship of Tatanka Bluffs,” said Evans.

The pieces of art will be on display throughout the buildings at the museum, including the church and the two schools, which means there is plenty of space for art, said Evans.

Pieces of art may be dropped off at the Renville County Museum, the Redwood Gazette office and Morton city hall Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until noon.

There is no charge to attend the event, and Evans said refreshments will be served.
