Farmward Cooperative, along with the Land O’Lakes Foundation, recently made donations to seven area FFA Chapters.
The FFA chapters receiving donations were: BOLD, Springfield, Renville County West, Sleepy Eye, Cedar Mountain, Redwood Valley and Wabasso.
Each received a $250 donation from Farmward, along with a $250 matching funds donation from the Land O’Lakes Foundation.
“As a cooperative, Farmward recognizes and takes pride in the importance of ag education,” said Dave Stuk, Farmward chief executive officer. “We strive to support local organizations, such as FFA, whose main focus is developing our next generation of leaders and promoting agriculture.”
The donations, totaling $3,500, were made in an effort to help sustain area ag education programs where students can gain knowledge and leadership skills through activities, projects or events that help improve rural communities and/or serve those who live there.
Farmward believes contributions such as this are an investment in the future of rural communities.
“The skills that young people can gain from participating in FFA are invaluable,” added Christie Rudenick, Farmward director of marketing. “We want to help local chapters fund projects that will teach and inspire the students in FFA to be great leaders in our communities.”
Together, the seven FFA chapters have approximately 140-150 students who are active and participate in the programs, competitions and activities their chapters have to offer. This is an impressive number and speaks volumes to what the future holds for rural America.
