Stevenson captures All-Around in 126.85-125.175 BIg South Conference win

A nearly two-point edge on bars helped host Redwood Valley hold off visiting Luverne 126.85-125.175 Tuesday night in a Big South Conference dual meet.

Redwood Valley scored a 30.75 on bars compared to a 28.7 for Luverne and also topped the visitors on floor 33.175-32.825.

Emma Stevenson led the way once again for Redwood Valley, earning a first-place finish in the All-Around with her score of 33.65. She was first on vault (8.95) and beam (8.275) and finished second on floor (8.55) and third on bars (7.875).

Mikayla Opatz picked up a first-place finish for Redwood Valley on bars (8.05) and Sidney Beran was fourth on floor (8.4). Abby Beran was fifth in the All-Around with a score of 29.925 and added a fifth-place finish on vault (8.5). Riley Franklin was fifth on bars (7.45) and Carlath Berry was fifth on beam (7.15).

The Cardinal JV was also victorious, topping Luverne 113.45-111.4.

Berry was first on floor (8.0), tied for second on vault (8.3) and was third on bars (6.2). Opatz was first on beam (7.7), Franklin finished second (7.55) and Haylee Sovell placed fifth (7.0). Hannah Elmer finished first on vault (8.5), and Ellie Mertens tied for fourth on floor (7.3) and was fourth on vault (8.2). Sidney Beran was second on bars (6.9).
