Pendleton, Hillesheim lead CM/Comfrey to wins over TCU and Mountain Lake Area

With wins over Tri-City United and Mountain Lake the CM/Comfrey boys basketball team improved to 5-2 overall heading into the start of the post-Christmas schedule.

The Cougars held on for a tough 59-57 win over Tri-City United, as Dylan Hillesheim finished with 21 points, six rebounds and two assists. Lewis Pendleton went 3-of-3 from long range on the way to 18 points, four rebounds and four assists and Eli Samuelson added 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Lucas Emineth chipped in with four points and four rebounds, and Matt Larsen had four points and one rebound. Justin Lumbar added two points and six boards.

The Cougars then rallied from a 37-33 halftime deficit to top Mountain Lake Area 75-69.

Pendleton knocked down a trio of three pointers to finish with a team-high 26 points, nine rebounds, six assists and one blocked shot. Hillesheim added 20 points, seven rebounds, two assists and one blocked shot, and Samuelson had 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists and a team-high four blocked shots. Matt Larsen would finish with 12 points and five rebounds, and Emineth had two points and an assist.

The Cougars shot a solid 52 percent form the floor (32-of-61) but were just 5-of-12 from the charity stripe.

CM/Comfrey is back into action tonight at home against T/ML/GHEC and Friday night versus MVL.
