Naomi (Dahmes) Lippke, 95, of Merrill, Iowa passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.  Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the United Methodist Church of Le Mars.  Reverend Dr. Michel Lundula will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Stanton Township Cemetery, rural Merrill, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church and following the service during a time of lunch and fellowship at the church.  Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.  Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.  Naomi O. Dahmes was born February 18, 1922 in Redwood County, the daughter of Robert and Frieda (Otto) Dahmes. She attended school in Redwood Falls and graduated in 1940.  She attended Westmar College in Le Mars and graduated in 1944 with a major in biology and minors in mathematics and industrial arts.  During her time at Westmar, she was the draftsperson for the Mars Skycoupe, the aircraft that was built by the college.   While in college, she met Elvin Lippke. While he was on leave from the service, they married December 26, 1944 in Kansas City, Kansas. Following Elvin’s discharge from the service, they lived on a farm in Stanton Township, rural Merrill, Iowa.  Elvin passed away November 20, 2000. Naomi continued living on the farm until recently, when she became a resident of Plymouth Manor. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Le Mars. Through the years, she enjoyed playing solitaire, crossword puzzles and reading. She also enjoyed cooking and sewing, but most of all, she loved the times spent with her family.  Survivors include her two sons, John Lippke of Merrill, Iowa  and James (Cindy) Lippke of Sioux City, Iowa; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Lippke (fiance, Brian Ganzel) and Catherine Lippke; sister-in-law, Carolyn Lippke of Council Bluffs, Iowa; dear friend, Ina Gatts of Le Mars and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Frieda Dahmes; her husband, Elvin Lippke; her brother, Dwight (Georgia) Dahmes; her sister, Sylvia (Harry) Clayton; and her in-laws, Harold Lippke, Erma (Vic) Bunge and Gladys (Robert) Reynolds.
