The Milroy community is hosting its annual Fun Fest celebration this coming Saturday, with events held throughout the day.

The festivities begin at 8:30 a.m. with a new 5K color run/walk. Registration is scheduled to begin at 8:15 a.m. Cost to participate in the color run is $20.

The community parade is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. Those who are planning to participate in the parade are asked to line up at the elevator.

A classic car and tractor show will start following the parade at approximately 11:30 a.m. on the street near the city park.

Some of the other events include:

• A dunk tank at 12 p.m.

• A kids’ treasure hunt for those ages six and under starts at 12 p.m. Items will be hidden in the sand at the city park.

• The volleyball tournament is set to start at 12 p.m. The team entry fee is $30. All ages are welcome. A minimum of four players is needed to take part in the tournament.

• A kids’ eating contest is being held in the park shelter starting at 1 p.m. Kids who want to participate need to show up by 12:45 p.m.

• A petting zoo is available from 1-3 p.m.

• A bean bag tournament starting at 2 p.m. Entry fee is $20 for two-person teams.

• The Milroy Lions Club is hosting Bingo from 3-5 p.m.

• A cow chip contest starts at 6 p.m.

Inflatables and other activities will also be available throughout the day. The event concludes with a street dance featuring IV Play from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. Cover charge is $10.

Concessions will be available throughout the day. No coolers will be allowed.
