Lenh Dinh Phan, 79, of Redwood Falls passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. July 25 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church Monday. Stephens Funeral Service - Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Lenh Dinh Phan was born November 13, 1937 in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Nam “Nancy” Thi Le. As a Vietnamese refugee, Lenh came to the United States with his family in July 1975. They were sponsored by Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, where he has been a member of the community for the past 42 years. In Vietnam, Lenh worked as a telephone technician at the U.S. Embassy in Saigon from 1967-75. After he arrived to the U.S., Lenh worked at the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Factory for 25 years as a Lime Rock Shovel Operator. When he retired in September 2001, he was second in seniority. Lenh was a longtime member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, tinkering in the garage, and walking at the RACC. He dreamed of building a home for his family and was so proud when he was able to achieve that goal in 1991. He loved spending time at home, watching television, and was a dedicated NBA fan. Most of all Lenh loved spending time with his family. Lenh is survived by his wife Nam of 54 years; sons: Linh Phan of Redwood Falls, Lon (Nancy) Phan of Silver Springs, Md. and Luyen (Gam) Phan of Northfield; daughters Tracy Phan of Minneapolis and Tina Phan Jenniges (John) of Redwood Falls; grandchildren: Sam and Ethan Phan and Mila Jenniges and many other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death are his parents and a brother.
