After years of planning and effort the Serenity Suites Senior Living facility in Wabasso officially broke ground June 28. The building is estimated to take 220 days to complete, weather permitting. This timeline would allow residents to begin moving in next March.

During that time, the board will be working hard monitoring construction and working with the managing company hiring staff and adapting policies.

Serenity Suites will include 15 units made up of six memory care suites, six one-bedroom apartments with dens and three one-bedroom units, and the site will be set up to welcome individuals as well as couples.

Serenity Suites looks forward to providing a home for those needing assistance, allowing residents to remain in their community, close to family, friends, neighbors and church.

If you, or someone you know, is interested in calling Serenity Suites home and would like your name added to a waiting list, contact Cathy Schwarz at (507) 829-5569 or Paige Altermatt at (507) 829-9180.

Formal reservations will be taken later in the year.

Serenity Suites board members would also like to acknowledge the City of Wabasso and EDA for the time, efforts and contributions to Serenity, and their commitment to this project.
