After graduating from Redwood Valley High School in 2006, Catherine Nichols began pursuit of a degree that would ultimately allow her the opportunity to open up her own business.

Known as Cutter Place on Ramsey, Nichols has opened up her own salon in her home, and since opening in the middle of May business has gone very well.

Nichols earned a degree in cosmetology and then spent time working in Willmar before moving back to the community and offering her services locally.

Being in the cosmetology industry has been a dream for Nichols for much of her life, as she recalls from an early age just enjoying the atmosphere of a local salon.

“I remember going to Betty Meister’s shop and how much I enjoyed just being there,” said Nichols.

While still in high school, Nichols had the chance to shadow Meister, and that only solidified her desire to help people feel good about the way they look.

At Cutter Place on Ramsey, Nichols offers a variety of options doing everything from hair and nails to facial waxing. She also offers a line of products from her home business.

Currently, Cutter Place on Ramsey is available by appointment evenings and weekends, as Nichols also has a full-time job in the community. Those who would like to learn more about what Nichols has to offer or to make an appointment, can do so by calling her at (507) 430-4404.

One can also find out more on the Cutter Place on Ramsey Facebook Page.

“It’s been busy,” said Nichols, adding she appreciates the interest she has already received from people in the community. “It’s gone surprisingly well.”

Cutter Place on Ramsey is located at 810 Ramsey Street (look for the sign on the west side of the street). Nichols is excited about this new opportunity and is looking forward to the chance to serve the community through her new salon.
