Longtime Wabasso wrestling coach sits second alltime in state history

Wabasso/RRC Head Coach Gary Hindt surpassed 800 career victories in the Bobcats 37-27 victory over Marshall Tuesday in Wabasso.
Hindt - who has been at the helm of the Wabasso wrestling program for 48 years - is second alltime in the state of Minnesota with 800 wins and has an overall career mark of 800-211-6.
The Bobcats got into a good battle with the Tigers, rallying from a 27-3 deficit by winning the final seven matches.
Tyson Doubler’s 5-0 decision was the only win for the Bobcats in the first seven bouts but the Bobcats would rally with the strength of their line-up.
Nick Altermatt (182), Devan Liebl (220) and Jared Welch (Hwt.) all won by fall, Mitch Fulton (195) added a technical fall and Cole Werner (170) and Jared Schroepfer (152) claimed major decisions.
Cody Dudgeon picked up a key 8-6 decision at 160.
The Bobcats continue to gear up for the Section 3AA Tournament.  The defending champions captured the meet a season ago in an epic battle with Worthington and would go on to finish sixth at the State Tournament.
