The Redwood-River Valley wrestlers got their post-Christmas schedule started on the right track by sweeping a triangular Thursday night in Luverne.
The Badgers topped Jackson County Central 39-24 and held off host Luverne 39-33.
In the Badgers victory over Jackson County Central, the team picked up falls from Owen Bertram (106), Maverick Goblirsch (113), Omar Arredondo (126) and Kaleb Haase (195).
Eric Bommersbach (145) and Adam Bommersbach (170) won by forfeit, and Travis Rebstock picked up a big 6-5 decision at 182.
There were double forfeits at 220 and heavyweight.
In the Badgers narrow six-point win over Luverne, Matthew Zeug (120), Eric Bommersbach (145), James Ploeger (170) and Haase (195) all picked up big falls.
Austin Schumacher won by forfeit at heavyweight for the game-winning six points.
Goblirsch earned a 22-7 technical fall at 113, Arredondo added a 9-0 major at 126 and Bertram lost a tough 3-2 decision at 106.
The Badgers are back in action Friday with a triangular and then will host the Big South Conference Tournament on Saturday morning at the RVHS gymnasium.
