Paige Richert scored 32 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in CM/Comfrey's 82-61 win over Wabasso
The CM/Comfrey girls basketball team improved to 6-0 on the season with a pair of recent victories over Wabasso and Mountain Lake Area.
Friday night the Cougars picked up a big early season conference win over Wabasso, pulling away in the second half for an 82-61 victory.
The Cougars led 42-32 at the half and outscored the Rabbits (4-2) 40-29 in the second half.
Senior Paige Richert had a huge night, scoring 32 points and grabbing 20 rebounds for a mountainous double-double.
Abby Jemmings finished with 14 points, six steals, four rebounds and two assists, and Taylor Rose added 10 points.
Jordan Kevelin chipped in with eight points, and Lauren Boyle had five points, four assists and three steals.
Wabasso scoring was unavailable.
Saturday the Cougars jumped out to a 47-21 halftime lead on Mountain Lake Area and rolled to an easy 75-41 non-conference win.
Richert led the way again with a big 26 point, eight rebound effort.
Jemmings had 18 points and four steals, and Rose had 13 points.
Erica Bock added eight points, three rebounds and three steals, Hailey Pidde had six points, six rebounds and four steals and Lexi Toll had two points, five boards, four blocked shots and three assists.
The Cougars will take part in the Comfrey holiday tournament beginning Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. against BOLD with HL/Okabena facing Lyle Pacelli in the other semifinal.
The event wraps up with two more games Friday night.
