  • In less than two weeks more than 1,000 people are going to be rolling into Red-wood Falls, most of them coming in on bikes. Those bikers are planning an overnight visit to the community as part of the annual TRAM event. The annual fundraiser for the Multiple Sclerosis So-ciety has riders travel in the area of 300 miles across a region of Minnesota, and this year’s southern tour includes a stop in Redwood Falls. The most recent visit to town was in 2009. Having this many people in town is a good thing, said Anne Johnson, Redwood Area Chamber and Tourism executive director, but it also means a lot of work. Many activities have been scheduled for the July 15 visit, and Johnson said she is looking for more people to volunteer their time to make this visit a memorable one. Johnson said an opportunity like this is not only good during that immediate visit, but she also said making a good impression could mean many more visits to the community in the future. The average TRAM visitor spends $50-70 during their time in a community, said Johnson, but the impact when they return with their family for a longer stay can be much more significant.
