  • The Redwood County Senior Expo along with The Redwood Area Hospital and Redwood Area Hospital Foundation are excited to be welcoming Nick Buettner as the keynote speaker presenting “Blue Zones: Secrets of a Long Life” at the 2014 senior expo. The expo is being held June 19 from 3-8 p.m. This year’s expo is going to explore ideas and resources discovering the secrets of living a longer and healthier life, whether that be taking advantage of resources available in the community or learning the nine lessons for living longer from people who have lived the longest, as presented by Buettner. The event, which is being held at St. Catherine’s Church in Redwood Falls, provides education, resources and entertainment for seniors, caregivers, baby boomers and all individuals who want to lead healthy, active lives. Vendors are going to be available from 3-4:30 p.m. with a variety of information and prizes.
    At 4:45 p.m. Red-wood County Veterans Service Officer, Marty Caraway, is going to be speaking about veterans affairs and resources. Dinner, provided by Redwood County Relay For Life, is being served at 5:15 p.m. Jeri Kodet, with Silver Sneakers, is going to get everyone moving and energized beginning at 5:45 p.m., and at 6:30 p.m. Buettner, is set to provide his keynote presentation with time for questions and book signing to follow. The cost of the full event, including dinner, is $8 at the door, with a portion of admission going to Relay For Life. For those who would like to attend only the keynote presentation, the admission is reduced to $3.
