  • Twenty-one children from around the area have spent this week getting ready for the big top. Specifically, they’ve been learning theater skills for the Redwood Area Theatre’s summer childrens production “Stories Under the Big Top”. Director Jessa Mari said that when the kids aren’t busy rehearsing onstage, they’re “involved in all the things we’re doing. They’re helping with the sets and costumes, and working on basic acting skills.” The story involves several animals whose owners tell them they’re not good for anything, and who set out to prove the owners wrong. Vignettes include the familiar stories of the Bremen Town Musicians, and the three billy goats gruff, as well as less familiar ones such as the fisherman and the magic fish. “Stories Under the Big Top” will be performed at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 13 in the Estebo Performing Arts Center in Redwood Falls.
