After 13 years of study the Redwood Valley High School Class of 2014 is set to don the cap and gown this Sunday. The graduation ceremony for the senior class is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., with 79 members of the class being honored. According to Rick Jorgenson, this year’s graduation is going to be a little bit different than those of past years. “We think this should be a very classy ceremony,” said Jorgenson.
The new video scoreboard is going to be used significantly during the ceremony, added Jorgenson. The public is invited to arrive early, as video from the class is going to be showing. During the ceremony itself there are going to be live shots of the class. Jorgenson said this year’s class has been a very good one, adding he knows they are going to be missed. “This was a pretty neat bunch of students,” said Jorgen-son. “Their achievements were wonderful. “They were a great class academically, athletically and personally. Their leadership was wonderful. They were nice, friendly and did what they were supposed to do.” Jorgenson said he expects big things from the class, and as each students name is called during the ceremony the public is going to see what those plans are on the screen. The public is encouraged to attend the 1 p.m. ceremony, which also includes music and speeches by members of the senior class.
