  • As a child, Nancy Loewen recalls spending a lot of time reading, which was encouraged by her family. That experience and an interest in being creative led to her career as an author. Loewen, who has penned dozens of books – both fiction and non-fiction, has also worked as an editor having earned a degree in English. Loewen shared her personal story and experiences as a writer with students at Reede Gray Elementary School this past week and encouraged students to keep reading and writing. “I think it is a lot of fun to write,” she said, adding even if students don’t plan to be writers one day just having that skill is going to benefit them whatever they do in life. “I used to spend a lot of time daydreaming on the school bus,” adding her favorite place to visit was always the library. “The books you enjoy now will stay with you forever.”
