  • In October 2013, Lisa Landgraff of Morgan was diagnosed with breast cancer. According to Landgraff’s mom, Irene, the discovery was made during a routine mammogram, and the two-centimeter lump was a complete shock to her and her family. The single mom who is raising three children, has been undergoing chemotherapy treatments, and bills are starting to pile up. That is why friends and family are hosting a benefit for her this coming Saturday.
The benefit is being held at the American Legion in Redwood Falls and runs from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The benefit includes a spaghetti dinner, and some of the ladies from St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Franklin are going to be providing homemade bars for dessert. Free will donations are being accepted for those who come to the dinner. A silent auction and bake sale are also being held, and items are still being accepted for those who would like to donate for them. For more information about making donations for the bake sale or the silent auction, call (218) 280-4068. The money donated during the benefit is going to be used to help cover some of Lisa’s medical bills, as well as her day-to-day expenses, as she has not been able to completely return to her job at GuidePoint Pharm-acy in Redwood Falls during treatment. According to her mom, Irene, Lisa is about half through her chemotherapy treatments. Donations are being supplemented by the Redwood-Renville Chapter of Thrivent Financial. The response to the benefit’s silent auction and bake sale has been very positive, and Lisa’s friends and family who have been helping coordinate the event are thankful for the generosity of the area. All are encouraged to attend the benefit.
