The Redwood County Big Buddies program of Western Community Action is hosting a fund-raiser this coming Sat-urday at Hi-Way Lanes in Redwood Falls. A Bowl-a-Thon is being held that day with one hour time slots at 11 a.m., 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. Teams of three to five people are being sought, with those teams collecting pledges. Funds donated through this event are going to be used to enhance programming for the Big Buddies program in Redwood County. According to Mark Trefry, Redwood County Big Buddies program coordinator, teams are still being accepted.

Those who are interested in forming a team can do so by contacting Trefry at (507) 530-1202 or by stopping at the Western Community Action office in Redwood Falls. Team packets are also available at Hi-Way Lanes. “We are very pleased to be going back to the bowling alley this year. Thanks to Jerry Hogy and Rocky Olerud for hosting our Big Buddies annual Bowl-a-Thon fundraiser,” said Trefry. Those who are not able to bowl may donate to the cause by supporting a Little Buddy team. Businesses and individuals may also donate to the event. Trefry expressed appreciation to those individuals and businesses which have supported the Big Buddies program. There is going to be plenty of food and other refreshments, as well as prizes for those who take part in the fundraiser. Additional questions may be sent via e-mail to Trefry at Visit for other info.
