The Redwood County chapter of People First of the Arc of Southwest Minnesota is set to host the 48th annual chili and soup supper this Thurs-day at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. The money raised at this Arc event stays in the area to help support people with developmental disabilities and to continue providing services to them. There are more than 75 members of the Arc local chapter, with 120 people with developmental disabilities being served in the area. Serving is from 5-7 p.m. The cost for the all-you-can-eat event is $7 for adults and $3 for those who are 10 and under. All are invited to attend.

Through People First scholarships are provided for various activities, training workshops and programs. The group hopes this year to make a trip to the state capitol. Through support from the community, a new program called Family and Friends was started. People First wants to thank local businesses and groups for their support, including the American Dairy Assoc-iation, KLGR, Country Kitchen, Mediacom, NU-Telecom, the Redwood Gazette, Wanda State Bank and Schwan’s. It also wants to express its appreciation to community volunteers who have helped to make the program a success. Those who ordered roses or fudge may also pick up those orders starting at 9 a.m. at the church that day. Arc also wants to thank those who supported this fundraiser.
