Members of the community are being invited to become active participants in the Redwood Falls sesquicentennial celebration through in-volvement in a fun run being held June 21.
Members of the community are being invited to become active participants in the Redwood Falls sesquicentennial celebration through in-volvement in a fun run being held June 21. Functional Fitness in Redwood Falls, which is helping to coordinate the fun run, is offering a special training program to help people of all ages and abilities safely prepare to walk, jog, run or race the 5K course. An informational meeting is being held this coming Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Functional Fitness, which is located at 700 East Bridge Street. The training program is scheduled to begin April 6, with meetings to be held each Wednesday and Sunday through June 18. The training program is going to include information regarding correct shoe selection, proper running and walking form, nutrition, personal safety, injury prevention, mental preparation and a carefully developed workout plan to alow everyone to train safely at their level of ability. Vicki Phillips and Trevor Wittwer are instructing the program, and they welcome all interested community members to join the fun.
