The Redwood Area Cattlemen’s Association has been selected to host the 2014 Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association Summer Beef Tour and Trade Show July 7-8, 2014. The summer beef tour and trade show is an annual event for the Minnesota Cattlemen’s Association. Each year, a chapter showcases experienced cattlemen, innovative techniques and quality beef set-ups by hosting approximately 1,000 participants and vendors from around the state and country to tour area farms. Registrants have access to more than 200 agriculture-related businesses featuring new products and services available to cattlemen through the trade show.
The Redwood Area Cattlemen’s Association currently has 210 producers from Redwood, Brown, and Renville Counties. The tour is going to showcase Redwood Area producers and the diversity of production. The Redwood Area Community Center is set to be the headquarters for the 2014 tour. The event starts July 7, with a quarterly and executive board meeting, followed by a golf outing in the afternoon and supper at the Redwood Community Center. The tour is being held July 8 beginning with registration at 6:15 a.m., before the full day of touring begins at 7 a.m., where attendees are going to visit five beef producer farms, and area businesses. The tour includes stops at Grant Breitkreutz, David and Clint Engen, George and Mike Landuyt, Curt and Chad Thram and Butch and Brandon Kerkhoff locations. Buses are going to take attendees to various tour sites. The tours are staggered so everyone doesn’t end up at the same facility at the same time.
