  • Marjorie H. Sandmann, 89, of Sleepy Eye died November 30, 2013, at Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
    Memorial Services were held Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye. Interment was at Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye. The clergy was Pastor John Mitchem. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials  to the Faith United Methodist Church.
    Arrangements were with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye
    Marjorie “Marge” Schwint Sandmann was born in Mallard, Iowa to Frank and Theo (Stowell) Schwint on January 16, 1924.
    They moved to Evan in 1929, then to Sleepy Eye where she graduated Sleepy Eye Public School in 1942. She worked at Broich Grocery, Robert’s Insurance and Moorman’s Manufact-uring until she retired.
    She married Ivan Sandmann August 7, 1944 in Morgan and has lived in Sleepy Eye since. They had two sons, Ronald and Michael. Marge enjoyed playing cards, knitting, fishing, baking Christmas cookies and volunteering at the Red Cross Blood Bank. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, Women’s Group, VFW and American Legion Auxiliary.
    She is survived by her son, Michael (Judy) of Franklin, grandchildren, Teresa (Dan) Hensch, Brent (Jody), great-grandchildren, Zachary and Lucas Hensch, special friends, Tom and Joyce Roberts, brother, Robert (Eunice) Schwindt and nieces, nephews and in-laws.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ivan, son, Ronald, sisters, Francis Feig, Hazel Ebelsisor, Grace Volker and her in-laws.
