    Dan Swenson was born September 30, 1941 in Redwood Falls to Elmer and Mildred (DeGroat) Swenson. He was baptized at St. Cornelia's by Bishop Jelinek. Dan worked as a barber, surgical tech, and as a cook at several different places. He was very good at cooking, which he did for many functions in the community and at cookouts for family and friends. Dan was a janitor at the church for many years. He also was a delegate for the church and attended many church conventions. Dan was a sharp dresser and had the nickname "Danny Boy". Dan enjoyed fishing and the outdoors, listening to music, and working on stereo equipment and cars. He loved his grandchildren and was very good with kids.
    Dan is survived by his wife of 27 years LaVonne "Peps" Swenson; children: Elena Wilson of Sisseton, S.D., Regina (Tony) Stacy of the Lower Sioux Community, Dean R. Peterson, Aaron Swenson of the Lower Sioux Community, Heather Swenson, and John Swenson; grandchildren: Marquese Swenson, Velecia Stacy, Xavia Stacy, Americis Dallenbach, Dean Peterson, Jr., Arianna Peterson, Chad Peterson, and William LeBeau. He is also survived by his siblings: Velma (John) Bulowski, Steve Swenson, and Nancy Swenson; and many other relatives and friends.
    He is preceded in death by his parents, son Willis, sisters Jean Swenson Lucio and Mary Swenson Blank, and infant brother Allen.
