  • Florence Tauer, 81, of Redwood Falls and formerly of New Ulm died Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society-Sunwood in Redwood Falls. Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls with Pastor Michael Doyle celebrating the Mass.  Burial was in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.     Florence Mary Duetsch was born February 14, 1932 in New Ulm to Joseph and Emma Duetsch.
    On May 22, 1957 she was united in marriage to Jerome Tauer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage they farmed in Sigel Township, Brown County until 1970 when they moved to New Ulm.
    Florence had worked at Shorty’s Bar, A.M.P.I. and the Backerei in New Ulm. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching TV, dancing and going for walks. Florence was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls, and she was a former member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.   
    Florence is survived by her daughter, Bernie Tauer of Canby; granddaughter, Amber Tauer of Willmar and cousins.  
    She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jerome Tauer February 9, 1976.
