  • Jeffrey Herman Muetzel, 58, of Renville, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, at his home south of Renville.  Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2013, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls.  Pastor Michael Doyle was the celebrant. Burial will be at a later date. Music was provided by Erica Pope as organist and song leaders were Phyllis and Scott Balko.
Jeffrey Herman Muetzel was born June 17, 1955, in Redwood Falls to Darold and Ardys (Werner) Muetzel. He grew up on the family farm south of Renville and was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Flora Township for many years. He graduated from Renville High School in 1974 and continued his education at Alexandria Technical School studying diesel mechanics. Following his education, Jeff farmed with his father Darold and also drove truck over the road. He particularly enjoyed driving in the Pacific Northwest, an area he found to be much more calm and peaceful. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Hayek January 2, 2001, at the Chapel of Love in Bloomington. They made their home on his family farm and Jeff continued to farm and he also did repair work, a business that he started out of his garage on the farm. Over the years, Jeff’s repair business grew, and he did work for many farmers and friends in the area.
He was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. He enjoyed camping, particularly at Clearwater National Forest in north central Idaho, fishing, riding his motorcycle and antique tractor rides with his son Myles.
Survivors include his wife Jeanette, his daughter Shannon McClellan of New Ulm, his son Myles at home, his grandson Odin McClellan of New Ulm, his mother Ardys of Renville, his sisters:  Teresa (and Stan) Knutson of Porter, Cindy (and Randy) Hebrink of Renville, Sharon (and Dennis) Heike of Alexandria and Jackie (and Dennis Reynolds) Rosaasen of Naples, Fla.; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Darold, and his devoted farm hand Richard Dailey.
    Blessed be his memory.
