The Redwood Falls Farmers Market is scheduled to begin the 2013 season tomorrow. The first day of the farmers market begins at 2 p.m. and continues until 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot at Bridge and Washington streets in downtown Red-wood Falls.
According to Mike Roach, farmers market coodinator, many of the vendors from the past are returning this year, adding there are also a few new vendors setting up.
Everything from canned goods to fresh vegetables, as well as baked goods are going to be available to those who visit the farmers market.
Much of what is going to be available in terms of fresh produce is based on the time of the season, Roach explained, as early farmers market dates are likely going to include some of the colder crops, such as lettuces and radishes.
The farmers market is going to be open now through sometime in late October, with events held every Tuesday from 2 until 5:30 p.m. and every Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.
Roach said there is always room for additional vendors, and the cost to take part as a vendor is $25 for the whole season.
The public is encouraged to come out this Tuesday and throughout the summer and fall to check out what area producers have to offer.
