The seventh annual ACMC/Redwood Area Hospital 5K run/walk is being held this coming Saturday.
The race is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. There is a change to the event his year, as the run/walk's location is different. The race is going to be run through Alexander Ramsey Park.
Registration for the 5K event starts at 7 a.m. at the falls shelter.
If one has not yet registered the cost is $20.
The top 5K runners in the men's and women's divisions receive a plaque, with medals for those placing in the top three in various age divisions, including 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and up. Door prices are also being awarded after the races.
In addition to the 5K race, there are two kids races being held, with an 800 meter race for those who are 12 and under and a 200 meter race for those six and under.
The cost to participate in these races is $8. Race day registration for the kids’ races is scheduled to run from 7 until 9:30 a.m., with the 200 meter race starting at 10 a.m. The 800 meter race follows at approximately 10:15 a.m. Awards follow the 800 meter race.
Funds raised from the race are used to enhance youth running activities in the area, as well as the Friends of the Park projects.
