  • Jerry Robert Domek (Road Dog), 51, of Redwood Falls, formerly of Emmetsburg, Iowa, passed away June 13, 2013 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis after a long illness. A memorial service was held Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Joyce Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. Scattering of his ashes is going to be done at a later date by his family.

  • Jerry Robert Domek (Road Dog), 51, of Redwood Falls, formerly of Emmetsburg, Iowa, passed away June 13, 2013 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis after a long illness.
    Jerry was born March 10, 1962 in Emmetsburg, the son of Robert and Kay (Hauschen) Domek.
    Throughout his life, Jerry worked at several jobs including construction, shipping and receiving, factory and farm work, as well as movie projectionist.
    Jerry loved the outdoors, he enjoyed Ramsey Park, fishing, hunting, searching for arrowheads and metal detecting. He was a history buff and always enjoyed learning about the history of the area. He was also known for enjoying his 4th of July fireworks. Jerry had many collections including guns, antiques, coins, old pop bottles and classic rock music.
    Jerry’s biggest joys in life were his daughter Miranda and his new granddaughter Ella.
    He is survived by Rita Fasching (significant other) of Redwood Falls; daughter Miranda (Austin Keinol) of Mallard, Iowa and granddaughter Ella; mother Kay Domek of Emmetsburg; sisters Julie Reinders of Norwalk, Iowa and Deb Metz of Emmetsburg; niece Holly Reinders or Portland, Ore.; nephews Joey Reinders (Tonya) and family of Aurelia, Iowa, Andy Reinders (Tara) and family of West Des Moines, Chad Metz of Ames, Iowa, Casey Metz (Bri) and family of Emmetsburg and Mitchell Metz of Emmetsburg  and Jerry’s beloved pets Howie and the Grey Beast.
    Jerry was preceded in death by his father Bob Domek; grandparents Raymond and Thresia Domek and John and Katherine McCullough.
    A memorial service was held Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Joyce Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. Scattering of his ashes is going to be done at a later date by his family.
