People get stressed.
One of the ways to relieve that stress is to have someone with the proper training offer techniques that help to address the physical issues that result from those stresses in life.
Tammy Tordsen of Redwood Falls is one of those people, and as a certified massage therapist she can provide the types of massage one might need to alleviate the pains one could encounter in everyday life.
Tordsen earned her certification in massage therapy by attending the Sister Rosalind Gefre Massage and Wellness Center in Mankato where she learned the basics of massage. She then completed her certification at Ridgewater College.
Recently, Tordsen opted to open her own massage therapy center, and River Bend Therapeutic Mass-age, LLC was the result.
Tordsen is currently renting space at Hair Company Salon and Spa on Second Street in Redwood Falls.
“I guess I just like the idea of helping people,” said Tordsen when asked why she decided to start a new career in massage therapy. “I provide an hour of time when people can forget their problems.”
Tordsen added the timing was right, too, as her children are all out of the house giving her more time to pursue her interest in helping others. The Redwood Falls High School graduate is available Mondays from 12-7 p.m. and Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
She is also available Saturdays and evenings by appointment.
Tordsen has training in basic massage, therapeutic massage, reflexology, relaxation and ear candling.
